If you value sport over luxury and don't need a lot of rear seat room, then I say do it. The E90 330i is a fantastic car. The only reason I bought the 545i over the new 330i was rear leg room.
You'll give up some ride quality and space, but gain acceleration, handling and...at least in my opinion, a better driving position and seat.
