It's there first offer and Im a little shocked that it is so close to what you want.
Maybe insurance companies are better in America at a payout figure?
But just do your homework and show them the facts. It's the best way to get more money.
Show them the options your car has and another car to compare that has the same options if possible and body condition.
They will come up if you have the facts on your side

You might have a second adjuster take a look at your car. (You would probably have to pay for that.) I was in a similar accident a year and a half ago. A guy in a Honda Minivan ran a stop sign and hit my car on the rear wheel/quarter panel. My insurance company (Allstate) valued the car at $7600. A friend of mine who is an adjuster submitted his valuation of $9200. He did a more thorough and expanded comparison and expanded the comparison area to include Dallas, I am in Houston. The car was totaled. I kept the car and repaired it.

So how does that work? The insurance company gives you a check and doesn't want the car? And so someone can buy a totaled car in Texas and never realize it?
