I ordered one today too '07 530i. So. Cal's Cravier BMW web-salesman told me: Production will start in March
car will be here by May.
How much over invoice did they charge you?

Newb here. What about the 550i? Sales guy at Irvine BMW (SoCal) told me I'd be looking at September 2006. He said they are not starting the production of the 550's the same time as the others. Something about emissions on the sixes and some sort of deadline they are trying to beat. Probably just a hard sell, as they had several 550s on the lot. Went on a couple of insane test drives (not me, a SA driving), in a 550 and a M3. Here is the link to the best test drive I've ever been on. Both the 550 and the M3 were amazing. http://tinyurl.com/7dtbr
I had the same experience at another dealership on the west side in LA. Exact same story about it only being 525s and 530s that were getting made early. Anyone have a confirmed order in the system for a 2007 with a production date. Not that I want to believe this guy as he's got 6 or 7 550is sitting...

Your dealer is pulling your chain. ALL 5 series will be MY07 as of March 2006 build. Wait for it!

Please look here... page 3. Print it out and shove it in your salesmans face.

My 530i finished production on 01/24/06 and I took delievery 02/23/06 -- hours after it came to Dealer, US East Coast

My dealer confirmed MY07 will start prod. in March but if you are using BMWFS, residuals and rates will go up in March in addition to the slight increase in MSRP

I don't have a VIN or Production number yet, but I ordered a 550 a week ago, and had a week 12 build date....that was moved up to a week 9 build date! Conventional wisdom, for what that's worth, says 60 days from build date......so, what everyone here is saying is correct. The first 550s should hit the west coast in April-May. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the delivery date is as much a function of your dealers allocation slot as it is when you order. If your dealer's slot is way down the road, you will have to wait.....that's my understanding, anyway! I'm sure that most dealers/salespeople would rather you bought an existing inventory 06, or an 06 they could locate for you.....by the way, also in spite of what you may hear, I think there are reasonable deals to be made on the 07 550s.....good luck!
