If I place an order for a model year 2007 530i, assuming that production starts in March, using U.S. Dealer Deliver, how long before I could expect to see it?

10 weeks +/-

Run a search on delivery time and you will find lot's of examples of what others have experienced.

Good luck with the wait.

Newb here. What about the 550i? Sales guy at Irvine BMW (SoCal) told me I'd be looking at September 2006. He said they are not starting the production of the 550's the same time as the others. Something about emissions on the sixes and some sort of deadline they are trying to beat. Probably just a hard sell, as they had several 550s on the lot. Went on a couple of insane test drives (not me, a SA driving), in a 550 and a M3. Here is the link to the best test drive I've ever been on. Both the 550 and the M3 were amazing. http://tinyurl.com/7dtbr

2007 designated 5 series will probably show up on US dealers around April and mid-april for the west coast.

And the 550? Any truth to what the SA told me about the 525 and 530 starting production early to beat some emissions deadline... with the 550 starting in the normal rotation... meaning September delivery? Or are these guys just trying to get me in a 550 asap? I really like the option package of the MY07 better.

Polictialaid depends on where your delivery is to... one month from the actual slating of your order. The BMW folks are very good at making the demand tight...but once you have a production date, it should be 1 month for east coast delivery...I am awaiting my car now...Order date the 21st of January...and it is approaching Halifax NS Tuesday...

Good luck,

David...

Here is the full link to my test drive road (for those who don't want to click on a TinyURL). I really want this car. But I don't want to wait for September to get it. What is the deal with the 550s?

I ordered a 550 on Saturday. My salesman told me that they are going in production in March. When I checked pricing with several other dealers in my area they indicated March production. The dealer bulletins also indicate March production for the 550. I have Euro pick up in May scheduled.

Seems the only person advising September production is your dealer who seems to have a nice inventory of MY06 550's. Id recommend another dealership, or at a minimum another salesman. Remind this guy he sells BMW's not Chevys.

Your dealer is pulling your chain. ALL 5 series will be MY07 as of March 2006 build. Wait for it!

Please look here... page 3. Print it out and shove it in your salesmans face.
