I am installing a device in the car that make audio announcements over a separate speaker. The device includes an optional connection for radios that support a remote mute feature. The idea is that when this device makes an announcement, the radio will mute - much like automatically muting the radio when a taking a cell phone call.
What can I expect to see on the back of our radio to support this remote mute feature? I have navigation, idrive and NOT the premium radio. Is it labeled mute or do I need a wire diagram?
Any tips or suggestions appreciated - I hope to be able to complete the connection in a reasonable time instead of having to put it all back together because I was missing something to finish it. I know how to get the radio out, done it before.
