Default Mtech foglights vs regular foglights

Does anyone know if regular non mtech bumper foglights will fit my 2005 bmw 545i mtech bumper? I need new foglights and i found some online for 04-07 fog lights but wanted to make sure if it will fit my mtech bumper which is oem. Also they look pretty similar so I think they should but just want to make sure.

Regular fog lights assemblies will not fit the Mtech bumper. You need OEM M fog light assemblies.

I was able to reuse my stock fogs when I had my aftermarket MTech bumper installed.

Nope, they're definitely different. You need M Technic specific foglights for that bumper. When you buy the whole kit from BMW, they ship you a new set of fogs because they are in fact different. I compared them side to side when I installed my OEM kit because I had the same question you did. I don't remember exactly what the differences were, but I do remember saying to myself "yep, those aren't going to fit, thanks for sending me new ones BMW".

Also if you use non-M Technic fogs you will lose around 8 horsepower. <------fact.

Look at your current fogs, apparently some are shape different. I purchased one off ebay and apparently it didn't fit. I attached a pic. in the top pic , is the one i bought, but i ended up needing the on in the pic below to fit my mtech bumper. The part circle in red is the difference that I notice in the 2

That's just how the bumper came when I ordered it from Trinity Autosport.
