Default MPM replaced and not getting A6A6 MPM: Coding -data error

Hi everyone,

My MPM died in my 2004 530i and I replaced with a new unit but now I am getting error code A6A6 - MPM: Coding-data error.

Does anyone know what coding needs to be done to this module? I couldn't find much about it online and there seems to be a lot of confusion over if the MPM needs to be programed or not. It is showing up as a persistent error.

Thanks!

It usually does not need coding. If anything just default code it and see what happens

Thanks @seanjordan20 !

When you say default code it, are you talking with NCS or another tool? I didn't even know there were any options.

I pulled the options out in NCS and here is what I currently have. Does anyone have a good working MPM they could read please so I can copy their values or have any info on what each of the settings do? I was hoping it was going to be like my Active Steering Module which was pretty basic to figure out but this seems to need a baseline.

Just to follow up, I ran the SG_CODIEREN command in NCS on the MPM and it programmed the module to default and cleared my error. Here are some screen captures of the post coding.

It looks like it just checked everything on!

Yea. Just like I stated just a default coding if anything. It doesn't matter what parameters are checked or unchecked. Default coding is coding the modules to the options in the cars VO. Every car has its own VO that's different. Good to know you got it solved
