REPOST! I have always believed that the #2 thing guys lie about is their gas (oline) mileage. The #1 thing is the size of certain body parts.

Forget "average".
My -actual- is more than 25mpg US. I have never reset the computer since I bought my 2006 530i N52 manual. My average speed is ~33mph. That should give you an idea of my driving mix. Mostly highway, but a good amount of traffic and around-town.
I kept a spreadsheet for the first 2 years of ownership. I fluctuated from 22+ to 28+ on an entire tank of gas (not skewed for highway trips).
I also tracked tire pressures. The max pressure vs. lighter load pressures was pretty surprising. I think it was about a 2mpg loss in economy by lowering my tire pressure.

Measured with gas pump / trip meter: 6,5 l / 100 km's,
that's about 36 mpg in mixed driving.

Hey guys I read on the e61 discussion that everyone in the UK gets roughly 22-25 MPG 40-45 on a good run on the autobahn. Just wondering what is the averages for people in the states. I get 17 combined high way and city driving
but if i go all highway probably 23 or so. but my mpg always says 20 but when i do the cals. per fill up i get 17. just wondering! report in on how accurate BMW is with there MPG ![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)
