Hi!
I just had the MP3 retrofit done on my 530 so that now the idrive plays MP3s. They can be played on the Idrive CD and DVD player.
I dont seem to have a problem with the CD player but if i put too many folders / songs a DVD, the idrive does not seem to read them.
Is there any particular type of DVD i need to use (DVD + or DVD -) and what is the maximum amount of folders that i can put on there.
I have been using nero to burn the DVDs and it seems to read most of them. I know about the max 192KBps bit.
Any ideas of this? Anyone know of any forum links to the best settings for DVDs.
I able to play the DVD MP3s in the car as I have got Nav Pro and i put the DVD in the Nav disc slot

there prob is a limit on max folders as this is down to the software to decide how many folders it will support

I havednt tried just listing the lot as mp3s and then trying it.
I use the same settings for DVD that you would for CD settings in nero.
Anyone got any ideas or experienced the same problems?

There seems to be a file limit on them as i seem to only be able to gte around 6 folders on the idrive - each folder has either 2 or 3 other folders in it.

Maybe it doesn't like finding nested levels of folders (two or more deep). Perhaps it will only tolerate one level of foldering. Also, you might want to limit the number of files in a folder. I know that I've used 165 or so without problem, so the limit is NOT 128, but perhaps it's 256 or 512.
I haven't tried a DVD yet as most of my journeys are fairly short and having 165 songs on a CD is easily enough for my entertainment. Plus I don't want to lose the navi ability.

When I burned my DVD the folders were as follows: mp3/artist/album/songs with "mp3" being the root folder I created on my home pc. Seems to work fine. Today I tried adding catagorization folders prior to the artist. We'll see how that works. mp3/category/artist/album/songs. BTW, I burned 62 CD's (740 songs) on a single layer DVD. Luckily, I know where I'm going most of the time.
