Question:
I have a Feb 04 545 w/nav & changer. Does this mean that with a software update from the dealer that I will be able to, once released, play mp3 audio?? I haven't really kept up with the idea of playing mp3's.? But, when I saw the post I got all big eyed and bushy tailed.

Your car date looks too old, it wont play on a CD changer, and you cant play MP3 unless you have a pro radio and then its via the single CD slot in the dash. If you have PRO Nav (8" screen) the forums suggest its a good way off in some magical CIP rev sometime in the future.

You have nav, so you have radio pro.
I guess you'r e in the US, so it's pro nav, then you will be able to play MP3's after the new CIP will be installed.
If you're not in the US and only have nav bus, you are allready able to play MP3's.

But as said above it's only possible through the in-dash single slot CD player, not with the CD changer.

My latest software update last eek gives me MP3 playback -
AUG 2004 build business radio & NAV. 6 CD changer. I have to remove the NAV DVD and use that slot to get it to work, unfortunately.

Its ok... I've gave up now. Dont worry those posts wont give me hope anymore. I've learn to accept that I'll not be able to have MP3 playback... FOR NOW! Still hoping BMW will release a software that can have it Dont know if its physically possible with Bus Radio but theres hope! Software can do anything!

So sad... because I got the car in between those "certain months" I cant have MP3 now. Booooooooooooooo

No worries, just pretend you are listing to MP3's. Every time you need to place a different CD in, just think of it as "changing folders!" A mental block about the whole thing might just help the frustration.
