So still according to the souces on this site a Pre-March 2005 build car w/out NAV will not work in the US.

You can burn as much as you want (ie. 850 tracks @128 bitrate = 4.37 G
but the BMW system can view and play only the 239 first tracks cumulative of the alphabitical first folders of the disk.

1st folder = BLUES = 65 trakcs
2nd folder = DISCO = 45 tracks (total = 110)
3rd folder = HOUSE = 85 tracks (total = 195)
4th folder = LATIN = 35 tracks (total = 230)
5th folder = ROCK = 65 tracks (in this foder you can view on BMW I-Drive MP3 menu, only the first 9 tracks alphabetical) total = 239
All the other folders and the tracks that these folders contains are disappeared, even you have on the disk 15 folders with a total of 850 tracks.

One way to pack your music on one DVD is to put each whole album as one track... there are a few rippers/programs that consolidate tracks/files into one..
