Cool

Greetings from Germany.

I have picked up my week 40 build 530i.
MP3 works great with the single CD slot with NAV.

I even tried a MP3 disc in the 6 slot CD changer with no luck of course(CD1 icon stays greyed out)

The MP3 CD I'm using has over 100 tracks and i've been able to play all of them.
The track names have a "~1", i'll figure that out later when I get back to the states.

Looking for some sight seeing areas to punch into the NAV to visit.

Later

I can confirm this also works on my Week 40 vehicle with Pro Nav. My dealer will be informing me what software version is installed on the vehicle on Monday when I pick it up.

The display listing does not support Joliet filenames (that is, long filenames). It handles filenames in 8.3 format (8 characters plus 3 character file extension) only. Thus, the truncation of long filenames to XXXXXX~1.

I have not yet tried an MP3 DVD in the DVD slot, but will do so on Monday. It is my understanding that the unit, via either CD or DVD (if DVD also indeed works), will handle the first 239 files on the disc, in alphabetical order. The directory structure, if any, is ignored.

From my experiance, it does keep the directory names (in alphabetical order) until the directory which contains the mumber 239 track of the whole disk (countering started from the first directory). That directory is missing the remaining tracks and the remaining directories are hidden.
Also for the long file names, on mine, I count 19 letters appearing on the I-drive Mp3 list, plus next line down with id3 tags of the playing track (if any).

Just for info.
Regards.
