Hello!

I know that the mp3 functionality in our cars is a mystic thing.
I found this picture in the gallary, it was made in Wullf1's car.
His car is a 2006 530xi us spec with pro nav and the mp3 functionality is given!???

Attachment 14115

Any reasons for that?

Regards

Just went out in the cold to try it for the first time.
My car was built in September so I expected that it wouldn't work.
I grabbed some random MP3s from my HD burned them with Nero on a cd-rom and tada... MP3 playback with Pro NAV.

So I guess it should work on all 2006 E60s since mine was one of the first to be delivered with start/stop button in NL.

It seems that all E60/61 (Nav Pro) build after sept-oct 2005 have a modified/improved version of CCC suitable to accept MP3 with Cip 20.0 or greater.

I used ITunes on a Macintosh OSX computer to burn MP3s - I used the highest sampling rate and so I could burn around 130 songs -

I had to convert some of them from AAC format to MP3 first, however -

It works w/o a problem and reads the titles....

My car was produced in mid-November...

Same here, mine was one of the first ones with Start/Stop at the dealership. When I went to pickup my baby, most of the sales guys were looking at my car...putting their dirty finger-prints all over it... But anyway, yes they were MP3s not .wav

Just got my car back from the dealer....I'm disgusted....they said the new software update (ver. 20.01) would definitley enable my .mp3 playback. Wrong!!!!! When I asked the service manager if they even tested it before having me drive an hour to pick my car up, he said that they did not test it and they do not have a "BMW approved mp3 disc" to test it with. He said he would speak with BMW and get it worked out....right....basically he had no clue what he was talking about. I went to my sales manager and told him that if we could not get the .mp3 working then I would like them to install the auxillary input at their cost since I bought the car under the false information of having a stereo that would play .mp3. He said that was fair enough.....we'll see.
By the way, my car is a 06/05 production date with Pro Nav.
