true.

i had problems before so i just bought a bunch of different brands till i found one that is compatible with the bmw's laser....SONY BRAND.

i burn them at 4x and as already stated, make sure they are not VBR. folders make no difference.

I agree that the bitrate may be the actual culprit here. In addition to VBR causing problems, I seem to remember that there was a limit to how high a bitrate you could reliably use...

just changing the disc has seemed to work for me so far. when you go to the next song it has a slight delay/skip sometimes, but otherwise no skipping during the actual songs.

Hi guys. Have a 2007 530d with prof sat nav and figured out the problem. Burn speed makes no difference(i use the maximum)....problem lies within the mp3 themslf. Check your sample rate on the mp3's, they HAVE to be 44.1khz. Anything more and the i-drive will skip the song. Bit rate makes no difference. I now make cd's with 150 songs and not a single one skips. Hope this helps
