BIG THANKS TO RUDY AND TSCARROL for getting me the docs and helping me push my cooperative dealership to perform the upgrade. As I picked up the car today the SA said that I had taught them something new. Well between Rudy and this forum.......little things like that have been a breeze!!!!!!
Now my next move to spend one of these nights getting my MP3 house in order so to speak and burn 1 or 2 disks to keep me going on the road!

Congrats! Don't forget that if you aren't actively navigating, you can play MP3 files burned to a DVD-R disc so you'll have many more songs available without switching media!
BTW, it's kscarrol, not "ts"...

I was in a hurry go driving, and rushed my posting...Oh yeah I was wondering about the DVD MP3 burning and playback as I thought I saw someone else mention that, thanks R, good tip.Frank - I Do have Nav, its my understanding from Rudy you MUST have Nav in order for it to work.

kinda off topic but if i want to update my idrive hoping that i can have the new program that lets me turn on/off my daytime running lights. will the dealer charge me for just going for updates if its not malfunction service related?

I have a 02/05 production without NAV, Radio Business, BMW HiFi and I did the retrofit for MP3 and it did not work, however BMW iPod works , as the playback is done through the iPod I believe so after Progman 23 I believe ALL BMW E60 is iBMW Pod adapter capable which was not possible for cars pre 03/05 and pre Progman 23 .
so many variables man.... sometimes I think am I pre or post or current lol .....
