One of the reasons I sold my E46 was because I had tracked it too much and had introduced far too many creaks and rattles into the car which it never had previously, understandable of course........
Creaks and rattles have been the main reason to get rid of many cars in the past, the only car I have had which doesnt rattle and creak is my old E34 525i Sport bless it......
I have a creaking sound coming from just behind the steering wheel either in the soft padded area which facilitates the electric adjustable steering wheel, the clocks or maybe in the area of the surround for the Heads Up Display, my best hunch is the surround for the HUD ??? Anyone else ??
When I turn 90 degrees right into an opening like I do every morning and mount a tiny tiny 5mm lip in the kerbing sounds like the parcel shelf in the rear creaks, every morning, annoys as well lol.
I can kinda live with the one in the rear if I had to , one up front is driving me insane however if anyone has any ideas ???
Why cant they build the damned things like they used to huh ?

i agree.. prabably is because nowadays they use lighter materials ..
mine 545i has creaks too. it's annoying - u don't expect expensive cars like this to sound like ford tourus and plastic panels..
