More info on USB in the LCI
Is the USB port a feature of the Ipod kit or something different? I have a 2006 e60 and haven't pulled the trigger on the kit yet. I love the idea of using a memory stick in the car. Anyone know what it takes to get one of these installed? Thanks!

The USB feature on the LCI is different than the current iPod kit that you can get. The USB feature is not going to be a retrofit option on older E60's.

That seems reasonable I think............my only frustration that it is unlikely that i will be able to have the iPod working through the USB connection when I pick the car up on the day

Will let you know what i get in response

After going over all the documentation again yesterday evening I arrived at the conclusion that every bit of documentation seemed to contradict the other therefore I put together a lengthy email to my dealer (proving to be one of the best sales exec's I have dealt with in a long time btw) attached all the various bits of posted info, asked him to read it through and give me a call back once he has had the opportunity to dig and get some facts together.
Adapter is free in US. When available in UK, it will cost about 30 quid.
Not too hard.
Hey, it's only MP3, not World Hunger or Global Warming.

No contradictions as far as I can see.

If you get more out of them than that, then it's all been worthwhile.

BMW say the adapter will be available in the UK. When? They're not saying. They are saying that its an accessory and therfore will cost something.
