You grab the hole in the door armrest, just like in the 3 Series.
It works well
Ideal for scratches and dirt.

Kinda Ford.

Does anyone think that the new shifter is somewhat of a minor eyesore? They're big, and longer then they need to be. It screams "LOOK AT ME", and doesn't flow and match up nicely with the rest of the center dash.

Is it exactly the same as on other "new" BMW's? If so it's the "job lot" principle.

No problems with it what so ever in my 3 Series
Also felt it worked better than my 545i's design

This discussion is really neat because we are not all buying the sell of this "upgrade". That sexy face on the other side of the room is not necessarily better than the sexy face we came to the party with.

The lower center button cluster looks nice... is that look like an in-dash CD changer (seems to be 8 instead of 6) also?

Hope the new steering wheel (at least the paddles) will work w/ prior model.

Ahh after looking on it further you'er right, but the paddle shift seems to have a leather insert or something...

Actually this thread has pix of two different steering wheels for the "refresh". Which is it?

I meant the steering wheel mounted paddle shifter for the SMG model on this picture.
