Model year 2006 - With or without ?
Hi,
I was kind of brushed off by some senior players on this site. It's ok I don't mind the prestige from some heavy posters/mailers but I just wanted to contribute to this board and its members with facts, nothing else. What you chose to do with the info is up to you.
The topic was about model year and revision changes/updates of each series. This takes place in Sept. so cars ordered and produced prior Sept will not have these updates. Each update by itself is not major but all together they give another message.
As reference you are of course free to visit www.bmw.de. Why take my word for it?
For detailed info on revision updates I suggest www.mwerks.com even though there are several sites who carry this info.
P.S.
I do not want to drive people off this site but if you want to take a peek for other resources than e60.net, check out:
www.bimmerwerkz.com
www.germancarfans.com
www.bimmerfest.com

Cool, thanks for the links!
I understand where your coming from, and to most a new software upgrade or interior amenity/feature might be the only concrete argument for a classification of "new model year", however, it may be just me here, but an engine change has to be the most significant. Dont you agree?
I mean you can even take into consideration that no matter what the internal BMW records indicate, a model advertised as an 06 is an 06! Another argument may be that in a few years the value difference may be significant enough mostly due in part by the new motor change. Now call in an accountant and look up depreciation and all the variables associated with it, but to me a new model year and a new engine on top of an already amazing car justifies a value difference over its prior model year therefore giving me equal reason to purchase now rather than later.
Do i even make any sense here? lol Anyhow thanks again for the links. I will post next week when my 530xi comes to me. Hopefully aleviate any worries anyone has about the xi models with pure information. Thanks guys!
