What excuse do I need to use to get an upgrade?

My Ride: 2005 E60 BMW 525i - BIRTHDAY- 11/04 - EXTERIOR- Amethyst Gray Metallic. INTERIOR- Beige Dakota Leather w/Dark Poplar Grain Wood. OPTIONS- Automatic Transmission, Premium Package, Cold Weather Package, 6-disc CD changer, Bluetooth using Verizon Raza V3c phone, SIRIUS Satellite Radio. ADD-ON's- 545i Chrome Grill, Euro Red Reflectors, Factory all-weater matts & Factory Coat-Hanger.

OK I have a 05 (born 11/04) 525 and I want to make my frist BMW checkup (got it pre-used) and wanted to get/make sure I have the most up to date software and i don't want to pay, what excuse do I use??? What will update do for non-nav car?

Just tell them the i-drive sometimes locks up and unresponsive... Since it happens randomly, you can't reproduce it. Also tell them that you know a new software update has been released and that you'd like for them to update your "crashing" i-drive to the newer version.

You can also do a search on TSBs and issues discussed here and make something up.

Any idea on what verison I might have it it was never updated ? Also I keep hearing how the update helps with the Nav. but what other items are improved? Example people are saying that my calles using bluetooth are kind of echoish, did I read somewhere that the bluetooth was 1 improvement?
