Default Micro Power Module HELP ME!!!!!!

I bought a Dension Gateway 500BT for my 04 530I. Everything is hooked up ready to go just needed the coding from the stealer to add the function onto my I drive. Well after spending about 3 hours at the stealer they said they couldnt program it because the telematics control unit was bad they said it could also be due to my MPM. My question is if I just replace the MPM will my TCU regain power because i remember eading somewhere its all in a system and if part of it fails another part is bound to turn off or something like that...

I can't tell you if you MPM or TCU is bad, but what I will say is get that MPM out of the trunk floor!!. Relocate it to higher ground. They're notorious for getting wet on early E60s and failure due to 'water ingress'. If you do need a new MPM, they can be had used for about $100; the dealer will want a grand for it.

best of luck with the car, wish I could be of more help.

Thats was next on my to do list but I was wondering if I replaced the MPM would I need to take it to get reprogrammed or would it just be a plug and play type of setup. I remember the mechanics at the shop said that multiple errors can happen if the MPM is down I havent really experienced anything except failure to program the dension and my bmw assist no longer works

I'm pretty sure the MPM is plug and play. A failed MPM can definitely cause all sorts of electrical system problems.
