What's the difference between Carbon and Charcoal filters?
As I understand charcoal is carbon - supposed to absorb odors

Hi There,
Would you please let me know where are the Cabin microfilters located on a 2004 525i and how to replace it?
Thank You

LCI cars dont have a seperate micro filter service setting on iDrive any more and the micro filter change is linked with each oil change interval. I changed mine early last week to stop the A/C smelling after using a spray cleaner and bought original BMW micro filters(x2) from ebay for ?14 inc postage. The stealers want ?23 for each filter and fitting on top.

Open the bonnet and at the top under the windscreen at each side there are plastic panels the filters are in these. There is a metal clip one end, unclip that. The other end on the front edge(car front) has a plastic hex bolt head, you turn that about 1/4-1/2 a turn and it uncilps and the housing then lifts off with the filter in it, then repeat for the other side.
