Alright... I'll get right to the point here. Last night i went out for a late night snack... grabbed some food that came with a large ass pop. Well the whole thing flipped over and spilled onto the floor mats and carpetting. the floor mats soaked up most of it but it also spilled onto the sides getting onto the car carpetting.
Has this happened to any of you, and is there any advice you can give to get it cleaned up? I have seen the car carpet cleaning kits, do those even work? or is there a better solution even if it requires more labor.
I have the natural brown leather so my floor is black. I got most of it soaked up with towels and paper towels but now it has that sweet sticky feel and smell.
Thanks in advance to everyone.

Pop?!? Are originally from western PA / Ohio area? I grew up south of Pittsburgh and that is the only place I ever hear people say pop. If I say pop out here in the Philadelphia area, I get looked at like I have two heads.
Anyway, I have never had that happen, but I have had a half gallon of blue paint spill on the passenger side floor of my old 330Ci. It actually cleaned up very well. If you have a wet/steam vac then get to work. If not, then rent or buy one.
Good luck.

first off you want to make sure you got all the moisture out (underneath carpet), then try 303 spot remover.

if spot removers don't work, i would check out a uhaul or home depot and rent a hot water extractor with crevice tool. might as well spend a day and do the whole car and the house.

You definitely need to extract any soda that soaked into the padding under the carpets. That may require getting underneath the carpet ... remove the door sill plates to get down deep. Even with a powerful vacuum you may miss what may have run into the nooks and cranny's under it all!
Then keep your mugs and jugs outside of the car!

First, go to a pet store and get a gallon (or more) of Nature's Miracle Stain remover. This thing dissolves, and gets rid of most stains AND smell you can ever imagine. Make sure you got all liquid out of your carpet. Use cloths, paper, whatever needed to get all out. Wash it with water. Then SOAK the carpet in Nature's Miracle. Let it sit for a few minutes. Then collect all the liquid again, repeat. Then use steam cleaner to clean the rest, dry, vacuum. Should do it.

Thanks everyone for the responces. Looks like this is going to a bit more work than I thought but well worth the extra effort if it comes out perfect.
530ISport, you had me rolling at the big ass poop comment. LOL...
And one thing is for sure, I learned my lesson to keep the huge drinks OUT of the car. arrgg, what a pain!
