Just read this weeks Autocar with new car write up on new MB E420CDi.
Its a 4.0 litre V8 with 310bhp and 538lb ft of torque.
0-62 6.1secs top speed 155mph limited 180mph de-restricted.
30.4 MPG combined cycle.
Price ?45,000.
They say the V8 affects the handling due to the car being nose heavy
Now what BMW?????

My Ride: 535d Sport in Carbon Black / high gloss shadow line and beige leather / dark poplar with professional nav, bluetooth phone prep, CD changer, bi-xenon adaptive headlamps, servotronic steering, folding mirrors, heated comfort seats, TV, extended voice control and Logic 7 hifi.
I'm not sure that only 310bhp is good for 180mph...

hey, did you read up on the supposed 745d? there was an article from the german mag auto-motor-und-sport, it was translated over on GCF, here is the link to read up on:

stats: 220kW/300hp, 700Nm, 0-100 in 6,9 secs, 250km/h electronicaly limited....
if they put it in the E65, the E60 cant be too far behind....
