Its through first automotive IIRC. Thats what was available to me when i purchased the car. Its 2 years, 24,000 miles, it was 2,500$ i think.

The past day i've been getting a raw fuel smell around the rear of the car....so add that to the list. It may have a fuel leak as well.

Wow that list of problems is a mile long. Good luck with your service. Hopefully everything gets fixed under warranty and the car is perfect.

I bought the car with 59k miles. It now has 66k miles.

Believe it or not, i work on cars for a living and have fixed quite a few things already. radiator, waterpump, coolant sensor, and a couple of hoses. All were fixed under warranty...When i bought it, 4 things in I drive were due. I've already changed spark plugs, pressure regulating valves, oil changes, microfilters, etc myself. I could do all the other work myself, but no sense in paying full price for all the parts if they are covered under the warranty i have.

Its been one thing after another. The tie rod is recent, as well as the vacuum pump leak. The stabilizer bar has been leaking a little bit since i bought it. I just want to take care of it now before the warranty runs out. The control arm bushings seem like a wear item on these cars, for whatever reason. Alternator is fairly recent...last month or so. i HOPE if they fix all this i'll be good for a while...hell it even covers the battery too so i'll have them test that. I'm very meticulous so i want the thing perfect all the time

I've been working on it as much as i have been driving it...

This sounds all too familiar to me! My warranty is up in April and I love the car but feel like I have no choice but to sell.

So i dropped it off at the dealer today, and this is what they found.

Tie rod end
vacuum pump and o ring
valve cover gasket
secondary waterpump

They said the sway bar isnt leaking "enough" to replace it. They did not find anything else wrong...

Wow this is scaring me a bit. I have a 2005 545i also with 72k miles on the clock but haven't had any of these problems yet.

Wish you were local so you could give my car a look over! You seem really thorough in checking, I don't exactly trust a lot of mechanics and especially stealerships.

Did your warranty cover all of those items you listed above?

We'll find out tomorrow. He said he was going to call them when he got off the phone with me (4:00). He said he would call me in the AM.

I guess i'm just anal with my car. I want it to be in its best possible condition, all the time. I am very thorough, even on vehicles i work on. I'm even worse with my own haha.

Just heard back from the SA. 1000$ out of my pocket, not including the secondary waterpump and the vacuum pump. He claimed he they would only cover 7.3 hours to do the valve cover gasket, and he charges 9.5. and they only paid him 1 hour to do the tie rod and alignment (which is BS).

so, if i wanted to do everything, it'd be 2000$ with the warranty company helping out. What a waste of damn money that warranty is.
