Maintenance schedule

Change the oil every 5-10k miles. Have filters (cabin/intake) inspected and changed if they are dirty whenever changing the oil. Do spark plugs after 60k miles and o2 sensors after 80-100k miles. Change brake pads when the sensors indicate they need to be changed (or slightly before the wear indicators get tripped to save a few bucks) and rotors when they exceed the wear limits. Flush brake fluid if needed. Some poor-running used cars will need to have the fuel filter replaced, injectors and maf cleaned to keep the engine running smooth..some people go to the extent of doing carbon buildup removal with sea foam but I've never attempted that nor have I seen an unhealthy level of carbon build-up on my 550i. Tackle all the codes stored in your dme when they pop up. Good luck.
