So I took my 535i to the stealership to do the routine oil change, my car just touched 60K. $139.99 - guess I'll be doing my own oil changes from now on. This is cheap by comparison to the other stuff they mentioned.

1. My DVD unit on the iDrive unit went out, the car is CPO but doesnt cover the electronics, so even though the unit is $120, parts + labor are $435

it gets better. . .

2. I have two bent/cracked style 124 18" with crappy run flat Bridgestone Shitenza tires, $1500 to replace the two rims/tires

oh wait. . . even more. . .

3. I have two thrust arm bushings that need to be replaced as well. $600+ tax

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this car, especially with the Cobb AP in it, but for all these things to going bad at 60K really make me question the reliability of the vehicle. I have never been plagued with so many issues in an ownership of a vehicle, I've been through cracked vacuum lines ($900 fix at stealership), replaced injectors (forgot how much but it was $$$) and the dreaded HPFP that was under warranty though. I am almost regretting getting out of my worked 350Z for this car, that car was very well modded throughout, wheels, suspension, power, electronics and I NEVER had any issues and thats after driving the pants out of it for 70K miles.

Rant over. . .anyone who has any pointers to quicker/less expensive routes to resolve the above issues, please chime in/let me know.

THANKS!!!

Yea, go to John. Also, why do you keep going to the dealership and did you not think a luxury car would have luxury car repair prices?

Tips:

Change your own oil
Don't go to the dealer for wheels and tires.

Lucky you didn't get a 545. They're REALLY expensive to maintain and repair.

I thought about it, and I dont mind paying for it. But for these things to be going wrong at 60K is a bit unreasonable. (70-85K, Id understand) I only went to the dealership to do the oil change, didn't think I'd get a breakdown of all this stuff. Lets put it this way, my friends with Lexus dont go through these kinds of headaches and Lexus is a luxury car. One fella has an LS430 with 160K on it and the only thing he ever changed was his oil and spark plugs. Guess its a testament to quality. Again, repairs are expected, but it seems like this car has way too many issues inside of 60K.

Wat? The most I have spent on my 550i was $190 for a new battery. I don't count oil changes or tires.

You're lucky you didn't get a 545 too. They fixed most of the N62 leakage problems before they went to the 550.
