Is it possible to install an M5 RPI guad exhaust on a non-m5 e60/i and xi. I understand there will be needing some custom fitting and welding...

I heard the sound difference coming out from both a single muffler rpi and a double muffler rpi and i find it that the single muffler rpi exhaust sounds a little bit weak.

Spending that type of money for a single exhaust setup giving of low weak sound isn't pleasant at all.

There's not enough room for the extra set of mufflers on non-M cars. To get a better idea of how both cars look underneath:

M5 with non-stock exhaust, notice the extra muffler room on the right:

non-M with Eisenmann quad:

As you can see from the second pic, the non-M cars don't have enough room on the right side, because that's where the battery sits. If you're willing to sacrifice your spare tire room and have a lot of modifications done to your trunk, I guess you could fit an ///M exhaust system.

These posts always make me laugh. Its not the fact that the m has a "dual side" exhaust that makes it sound "not weak" but its the fact it has a v10!!! engine with 500hp that makes it sound much "better" The m5 exhaust just so you know is actually the EXACT same rear section as the 530/528 exhaust, only there are 2 of them on the m5 instead of just 1 on the 530.

So if you added 2 mufflers, one on each side likeyou say to a non-m, then it would only et quieter and not louder. More mufflers does not mean more sound. It usually means more mufflers are needed to muffle the sound of engines with a signifigant amount of power.

Bottom line is more mufflers will not give more sound. Get a larger engined car if you do not like the sound of the non-m with mufflers!

Manufacturers of mufflers tune them for a given sound.....they can make a 4 cylinder sound like a V8. The M's muffler is tuned for a different sound than the other e60 models. Love the M5 rpi exhaust sound thats hot!

Wow ive never seen a pic of a bastardized quad exhaust on a single muffler setup. Looks beyond silly hahahaaa. What does that skinny lil pipe supposed to do? So a little steam comes out on a cold day? Lmao how cute

Yeah unfortunately for Inline 6 this is the way almost all the quads look, unless like another poster stated you move the battery and modify underneath. kinda shitty.
But I guess at least some smog comes out, I've seen quads with dummy tips and nothing connected to them. Now those look super ridiculous.
