...I think this is a must have mod...
I know EXACTLY what you mean.
From a technical standpoint: M5 mirrors are designed with symmetrical aerodynamic streamlining in mind (ie. the fluid velocity is the same on either side of the mirror) - I would have been supremely disappointed if they added down force (that is accomplished by other means btw). Reflecting my college days and aerodynamics class; just by looking at the thing, the parasite drag induced by the E60 stock mirror sucks in comparison to the M5 mirror.
Beauty meets performance = M technique after all, right ?

Thanks for the comments guys. I will take some more pics of the car from a distance. I think the mirrors flow with the car, if you look at the car from a frontal view, you can see the curves in the hood flowing perfectly into the curves of the mirrors.
I paid $900 for them (brand new) from a member who never installed them because he sold his car. I really like these mirrors much more then the originals that came with the car. These mirrors give a wider view of things and the corners have a sort of fish eye view, so the blind spot is much less than the box mirrors.
These mirrors are horrible. Dont do it.

I had them painted at F1 motorsport, they owed me a favor, so they did it for free. I installed them myself, so for me, $900 was well worth it.
