I haven't debadged mine but I like the look of it and I think I will do it eventually or perhaps will let the body shop do it once I get the M-Tech kit installed. Besides, it is easier to wax

Just need a bit of advice / opinion. Am thinking of removing the 520d boot badge of my M Sport and replacing it with an ///M badge, what do you guys think?

Thanks in advance
Forget an M badge, only de-badge for the looks - we all know a single exhaust is a 520

I wonder how many 550i and M5 owners go for the "clean look"?
I would like to hear from forum members that own a 550i and M5 what they have to say about this, I don't think this would be that unusual... Besides M5s don't need a badge to show what they are.

Folks

I have always thought you should be proud of what you drive, dont try and de-badge a car, or add a badge to make your car appear to be something else.

why ?

Simple.......... there are 2 types of people who look at your car

1.) those that know the vehicle and can spot a re-badging a mile away.....so you arent impressing them.....

2.) those that DONT know the vehicle and wouldn't know an M5 from any other E60.......so you arent impressing them either

In the end, nothng is accomplished.

I am however told by my European friends that they tycpically debadge in Europe.........I will leave that to them to comment.

Proudly display the badge on your world class BMW

Well, thanks for all your views. I just think the 5 series looks unbalanced with a badge on one side, not trying to hide its a 520d, and a small ///M badge may look good. The car has as standard ///M badging on the door opening sills and steering wheel. Not decided yet, gonna sleep on it.

Typically in the UK they don't.

Is debadging age-related?

Try to be OEM on badges. Then it's "something like"

This guy has hit the nail on the head, other E60 enthusiasts will suss you out as an imposter with one glance thus marking you down as a sad individual, as you most probably are of sound mind, cease all thought of "boy racer" type badge engineering and eradicate all of these sad mods that you are cooking up and we will say no more on the subject.
