This is now a reacurring issue.

Early yesterday AM I fired up my ride. The Active Steering was ?initializing? and was disabled. After 5 or 4 engine cold re-starts the AS worked.

And then much saved info was found to need reset. Clock and date, accumulated MPGs and average velocity. Damn, if I wasn?t saving data for a 1000 mike check on puter v actual mileage.

All this the second time. First time in shop my SA said they updated my progman and that would fix my problem. It did not.

A related issue is the distance bars on the Active Cruise are erratic after driving an hour or two using the AC. The SA said they could not find this problem. Seems like someone programmed that feature and should be able to establish what keeps the bars active. This, too, continues to annoy!

Any thoughts on all this before I head back to the dealers shop?

Thanks, sixcard

I have had similar issues with lost data and deactivated AS. I can't speak for ACC. Do you receive the a message at start up, Increased Battery Discharge with a picture of a car on a fork lift? I have a post regarding this. You can do a search, topic number 53777.

Thanks for reply. No I did not see a message re: battery.

I did however take the car in and they found some problem with the instrument cluster. A new one [replacement] is on order.

Some how I could not dig out your topic 53777.
