Well there's a moral in this for whoever owns or is planning on owning a BMW... ALWAYS HAVE A WARRANTY! I have 66k miles I would of been screwed without a warranty on so many occasions!

So far I had the Air Bag Restraint Malfunction where they had to replace the Sensor pad in the seat. Would of been expensive without an aftermarket warranty.

Radiator replaced... I had some undercarriage brushing replaced as well under warranty.

So far it's saved me well over $2,000

yes if you dont know anything about cars or not a DIY guy then 100% have a warranty.
In HK we only get 2 years warranty and after that it cost a arm and a leg something like $2368us
for me I had my car for 4.5 years now and I never renew the warranty.
I have only payed about $1900us after the 2 years of warranty. this I have saved $5204 and after 5 years BMWHK will not exstend it any more

Would it be out of place to plug that I actually sell aftermarket warranties?

lately my car been losing coolant. doesnt look to be a leak anywhere. someone told me it might having something to do with the head? any ideas??

My car would operate normally for weeks then suddenly i would get warning for low coolant level.
Eventually came out one morning to puddle of coolant under car, turned out heat exchange had gone.

Eventually all 545's will experience coolant loss. Grab a torx bit and remove the radiator stabilizer shield (the long metal piece above the radiator circled in the pic below). Under there is a long plastic tube that transfers coolant from the plastic overflow tank on the left (arrow in pic pointing to tube) to the radiator inlet on the right. Small bore rubber hoses are clamped to it on either end. That tube can become brittle and crack. Coolant will leak from the failed area. Because it is covered by the metal stabilizer shield, leaks may not be immediately visible.
