The more I drive on these new OEM runflats, the more I'm reminded of why I ditched them on the Corvette when I got that car. They suck on the corners. Taking fast sweepers are now white knuckle events and the slowest 30 seconds of my life, whereas on the 530i with Goodyear GS-D3s the grip is so much better and the skittishness non-existant. No comparison at all.

All kidding aside, let's see...you want good treadwear, high grip, and low roadnoise? Well, two of those three are inversely proportional. High grip = soft rubber = bad treadwear. Ever get out on the track? Follow a car on track tires and watch the tires disintegrate. We all want performance plus value, but sometimes we have to compromise one in order to get the other. The question is how much of a compromise you want in any direction.
I look at it this way...my 535 is a car that's meant to be driven moderately hard at times, while most of the time, it's in luxo-cruise mode. Therefore, using your criteria, I emphasise performance and ride. When I'm driving, I want the car to do what I want, and could not care less that I'm not getting 65K miles out of them. Tires, like brakes, are disposable items.
Recommendations...Goodyear GS-D3. I have them on the Vette, as well as an extra set in the garage. 15K mile life, but incredible tires!

the 05 does not have sensors but the later ones do
