Default Loosing Oil , no oil leak

I continue to mesh with my 2004 545i after four months even dealing through my intermittant rough idle. I have put three courts/ltrs of oil since I have had the car. I got it at 62k miles and now I have 70k. I have read that these cars may have that normal HABIT of burning oil. I just hope I am not getting alarmed because I do love the way this car runs. I live in Houston and I need to punch it when I run the roads. I also need to getawy from dummies in a hurry and this car just gives me that immediate surge and strength. I am just concerned about this consumption of oil. Is it true that it does DRINK oil?

Let the engine run for couple of minutes in Park/Neutral and then punch it in Drive. Does the smoke come out of exhaust?

Let the car idle for about 3-4 minutes and the punch the gas...if you see a bunch of blue smoke, it's your valve seals. Heads will have to come off to replace..

Edit: pcy beat me to it!

The valve seals can be replaced without removing the heads. Just need to apply compressed air to the cylinders to hold the valves in place. Worst case, you drop a valve and have to pull the head to retrieve. I will eventually be doing this task as well.
