Default Another leak I cant Win...

Took off the undercarriage cover to get familiar with the parts to get ready to tackle alternator bracket gasket. Under carriage had oil on the passenger side. I cant really tell if its dripping down from the upper timing cover (looks like it could be from a corner isnt that wet though, vacuum pump or if it may be the oil pressure switch. Im not getting any fault messages for the sensor. It is wet down there. Guess Ill be busy this weekend. Also what is the best method for getting the grime from old oil off these parts when I go in to do these repairs?

Very likely from oil pressure switch and/or the vaccum pump.
After wiping off the excess oil, you can spray brake parts cleaner for cleaning up the grease/oil stains.

Yes, that's the oil pressure switch.

You have to drain the oil for the alternator bracket anyway.

Glad you told me that.... I was reading thru one of these threads and someone ask if the oil had to be drained for the alternator gasket someone wrote NO because the oil will be at the bottom of the engine. I didn't buy any oil for this job.

When changing oil pressure switch, the amount of oil that comes out is minimal/none, just put a rag under it (don't know anything about alternator bracket though!)

You probably got the threads mixed up. Someone probably said that about the oil pressure switch. There's no way you could do the alternator bracket without draining the oil.

alternator bracket is above the oil level, no need to drain oil. Fortunately/Unfortunately I've done a half dozen of these now and know.

Just be happy you do not have the 745 with the external oil cooler lines behind the alternator!
