Just be happy you do not have the 745 with the external oil cooler lines behind the alternator!
You would think being at the middle to bottom of the block there would be oil there. Weird.

On another note. You had made a thread about an oil leak on the back of the head. Valve cover area. I believe you were working on a 745. Did you ever happen to get pictures of the leak?

I changed the oil pressure sensor this weekend but I still see a leak. I started the car up this morning and saw a drop of oil hit the sensor from what appeared to be above (alot of stuff in the way from the top). It looks like the upper timing case is leaking on that side and dropping down on the sensor and its wiring. Im not sure though unless its not all the way in and I cant see how I could have messed that up.

I also must note when I took the plug off there was no oil inside like most people had described.... My guess is its either the vacuum pump inner seal or the upper timing cover gasket. Any suggestions?

Check the bottom of the vacuum pump with your hands. Any oil there?
VP are quite common to leak on N62, wouldn't be surprised if that was it.

Yea I actually just went and did that right after my last post VP is dry. I think its the Upper time case cover, the sensor sits right under it if im correct. Im going to take the vacuum pump off and just have a look Ive only been able to look from the bottom.

That cant be it, although Ive had that problem before. The is nowhere near this leak. I think its the Upper timing case cover. Changed the sensor, checked around vacuum pump dry. I saw something drip onto the sensor this morning that and the VP is the only thing above it.

You're right...you can't win! lol Sounds a lot like mine. Seems I fix one leak and then there's another. While you're getting dirty and the ride is in pieces you may as well tackle them all at once. Keep us posted...
