Default loose leather sport seat leg extenders

Anybody run into this? I bought the car down CA and drove it up to WA so I really can't get the dealer to do much. It's still under warranty and CPO'ed. i'm wondering if it's covered? or if it's an easy fix.

Maybe I'm missing something - Why wouldn't it be covered under a warranty claim? From your point of view, doesn't matter which BMW dealer you take it to fix, whether the selling dealership or any other - they should fix it.

Easy fix: Pull the loose leather strip backwards past the thin metal rail and push up. The loose edge should snap against the rail and lock.

My CPO'd 07 530i had the same issue on the passenger seat when I bought it from a private party. Easy 30 second fix once I figured out how it snapped into the rail. It is pretty tight but easily doable. Baveagle gave a perfect explanation.

Like atl530i and baveagle stated, just press down on the top of the extender (compressing the cushion) to give yourself some extra leather to work with and feed the hemmed edge of the leather cover into the groove on thigh extender frame. It'll come back out over time, so you'll have to keep checking whether it's still in the groove or not...

Seems to be a rather common issue - had that problem myself once but it's easily fixed.

I have the same issue. The other year when the car was in for the final check I pointed it out and they fixed it, well kinda. They explained how they re-inserted the leather. I guess over time the locking tab wears etc and it releases. About once a week, while sitting in the seat simply take the leather as it's starting to pull away and lock it in place again. I plan to have a better look in the next days to see if perhaps a small screw would secure and not be seen. Then I won't have to deal with it any longer.
