Hi everyone
I would like to take this opportunity to say hi to you all as a newbie.
I currently have a e46 coupe and am now looking to get a used 530d e60.
My budget will get me a high mileage one thats gonna be a about 4-5 yr old.

I've heard there have been problems with the turbo?
Do I look for one that has had its turbo replaced or with original one.
Mechanically I know BMs are sound but this is my first encounter with diesel turbos.

Some information would be greatfully accepted.

Who did you hear that from? the turbos are fine if looked after.

 

Indeed, worry about the swirl flaps and DPF instead
