Yeah, the L7 is great. Are you planning to get the 6CD changer with that? If so, maybe you should get the PDC and/or CWP instead of the changer. Buy that when you have more money. I particularly like the CWP but neither CWP or PDC can be added easily later-on while the CD changer can and might not even be needed if playing MP3s becomes possible in the spring.

WOW L7 stereo....I have never heard of it. I don't even think that was an option when bought mine...or maybe it just wasn't offered on European Delivery cars. I thought the standard 10 speaker system was good. The only stereo upgrade that was available when I bought mine was the Harmon Kardon System with the 6 disk changer. I wasn't that impressed with THAT system so I opted to save the 1800 buckeroonies. Hmmm I might have to look into this.

I would get it just because the non L7 audio setup is such crap.
L7 is NOT hifi though. It's more like a 'processor' than what an audiophile would really look for. having said that, the 'effect' is not like the cheap yamaha/denon receivers. the effect does yield a relatively pleasing sound.

i've never tested a logic 7 and i don't have it in my car :'(. but most of us in here give high score to it and i think it wouldn't be that bad
. i'll drop the cwp and take the logic 7 only if you really like it. i suggest you bring a couple cds to the dealer and test out the system first. but if you are not very please w/the result and think germany is a cold place to live, stick w/your choice. i wouldn't drop the pdc since that's something you probably need to use everyday in the tight parking spaces in germany. i like it a lot
.

Being here in Germany and working the late shift I can vouch taht you want the CWP. IT is coming in very handy. PDC is also very nice here in Germany. Parallel parking. L7 is very good sounding but I would opt for safety and comfort first.

I have both the L7 and PDC and recommend both. If forced to choose I would opt for the L7 - it is that good! The other thing to keep in mind is that PDC can be retrofitted (dealer installed add-on) whereas L7 can not.

I think my L7 is great. The standard stereo, without any equalizer, is kind of an insulting, cheap stereo. BMW should just make the nice one standard in every one, at least on the more expensive versions.

My car has been at the dealer for the past several days getting serviced and they gave me a brand new 530i as a loaner with the L7, and I really wished I had gotten the L7 as part of my package. The sound is ten times better than the standard audio package. My recommendation is to get the L7, you wont regret it.
I still want my baby back, even though the loaner is great it doesnt have the sports package and handles a little too soft for my taste, but who am I to complain, they gave me a great loaner
