My car is in for repairs on my doording.

As a loaner I got a 525i sedan.
Some things I've noticed:
Engine power definately differs between the 525i and my 530i (both with the old engine). Torque is lower but the stupid thing is that in normal driving conditions I do not notice much difference in driveability. Only difference is when you floor it or need to pick up some speed to overtake someone that the 525i shifts back earlier to gain momentum.

The loaner is a very strange specced car. It has a cloth interior, no xenon, but does have pronavigation, bleutooth, electric sunscreen and extended lightpackage . The bluetooth is very handy because I paired my phone and it works perfectly.

This car also doesn't have servotronic wich my car does have. It makes the car feel much more sluggish and the steering is really heavy going slowly. I didn't think servotronic makes such a difference.

The loaner has 16" wheels and normal suspension. I would have thought that the drive would be much more comfortable but it doesn't differ much with my 530i. Tirenoise is less but not that much.

The logic7 in my car is fantastic and one of the best audio systems I ever had in a car. But the standard soundsystem in the 525i is rather good too. I listen a lot to business news radio (talkstation) and with these stations a very good system is less important.

The comfort seats really are a plus to the standard seats. The standard seats give much less support and it took some time for me to get a good seatingposition.

All in all I like driving it. It's a car that costs 35% less then my car but it absolutely isn't 35% less in comfort and driving. But I have to say that I'll be happy when I have my servotronic in my car back!!

I agree. I currently have a 525i and I have a 530i on order. The 525i does seem to have this intangible "get up and go" for a car with that low of rated horse power. Sure, everyone would rather have the 530 and 545/550, but the 525 is still a fantastic car. Especially one that's well equipped.
