I saw a Titanium Grey though, and feel it is much richer looking all around.. maybe it was the lighting?? the silver grey is more sport, more rugged looking on the 5, in my opinion...

Now, Seats.? I was adimant that I wanted Comfort seats,
any comments here please?

I do not like dark colours.
I like titanium silver, comfort seats for sure and dakota leather amethyst(LCRH), with internal aluminium trim.

Hey Wassy...

I have Titanium Gray I, and my opinion is that the color is gorgeous..but, in full sunlight, there is definitely a little bit of a greenish hue. I thought I read that the TG-II didn't have that. That being said, there is something about TG in the evenings when the sun is setting, or under artificial light that is gorgeous!! I get a lot of compliments on my car. But, it's a darker color than the silver, and therefore shows dirt and swirls and scratches more than the lighter silver. I am already planning my next car (07 550), and like you, I keep going back and forth on the colors. Either way you go.......beautiful color, beautiful car, great driving experience!! Good luck!!

Wassy,
Look at my ride below. I have pictures in the shade and the sun. It is a beautiful color but does on occasion have that tint of green. Under a clear blue sky, the silver grey looks beautiful. In a garage in looks dull and the Ti Grey looks great. This Ti Grey II intriguing. I have not seen it in the US brochure. Best of luck. Both are great colors.

Hey Hormazd,

If your car is a 6/04 build you must already have the TG II (code A36). Look under your hood at the paint code label and it should say "Titangrau II Metallic" code "A36/7". When BMW changes colors to new versions (like II, III), they still refer to it using the original name in brochures and some other paperwork. That is why most salesmen have no idea about the color change. However, even though it might still be called Titanium Gray in the brochure, they do have the correct code for TG II in there (A36). I think in the very first E60 brochure that I got the code for TG was something like "892". In the later brochures it was changed to "A36", but they still called it just Titanium Gray. Heck.....Alpine White was already Alpine White III when I bought my AW M3 in 1995 and it is still AW III, but the brochures just say Alpine White.

By the way, if you think your car has some occasional greenish tint you should have seen the original TG. It was much more greenish and much more often, although it still depended on the lighting conditions. Like I said before, I would have to really work at it to see any green in TG II. It just does not jump out at you like the original TG's green tint.

Well, I went with the incoming Titanium Grey. Should be here in 2 weeks.

How do I find out what ship it is? it's on owner's circle, but no details. The build date was 03/23... do you think I will have 16.2 on it? also, is Sirius installed at the VPC? it is on my car sheet, but not on the option screen on Owner's Circle.

I also looked at a car built on 03/17, and it was already at dealership... OC says In transit to Final VPC.. so, when should I really expect this? I think this week, actually.

I spent a cr*pload of time staring at all the pics in the galleries here... great bics, btw...each color look completely different depending on camera, weather, lighting, etc.. sometimes the silver grey is nicer, sometimes the titan grey... I went Tit. grey because I think the newer version has less or no green hues.. Coming from Jet Black, I will have a little easier time keeping it clean looking, but still have the darker, prestigious/classic looks... IMO. so, here is the final tally :

2005 545i (Prod. date 03/23/2005)
Anthracite Trim (god, I hope I like this and it isn't too Zebra'ee)
Logic 7
Sport Package
Auto
Rear Shades
fold down seats
NAV
HUD
Sirius
AUX input installed at dealer when arrives

I can't wait to see what kind of tires I get!

Very much the same as I have now, a year newer, and Sirius and fold down seats.. don't need the seats, but it was on there!

Thanks again for all your help with this and ALL of my other posts.. You guys are TERRIFIC!!

Color is a very subjective thing...like what's your favorite wax...or position...

I liked Titanium Gray the best, but wifey liked Orient Blue. So Orient Blue was chosen. I guess that means my favorite position is more important to me than favorite color.

Wassy, relax man. They are both great colors. Each has its great features and you will not go wrong with either. i must say the TiIIGrau is far more unique.
