Any of you guys with the sport pack notice a residue mark below the door shut lines on the flared sills! I thought it was door hinge lub but its still doing it. Had to use T cut the other day to remove the marks.

My Ride: 2004 545i - 6 speed manual (July 04 build), silver-grey/black, sports package std equipment (18", active roll, active steering, adaptive headlights), premium sound, bluetooth enabled, folding rear seat, lumbar, 3m hood/bumper protective film, rear tint, euro reflectors.
I see it everytime I wash my car. Kind of looks like vasiline that has hardened and picked up dirt?
A friend of mine has something similar on his VW, which I assumed was the same thing. In his case it is a underbody sealant that tends to ooz. Forget what the name of it is.

My Ride: '05 545i, silver gray, black leather with anthracite maple wood, sport package, premium sound, navigation, cold weather package, electric rear sunshade, folding rear seat, satellite radio prep, PIAA 4150K fogs, red rear reflectors, hardwired Valentine One
BMW sprays the cars with a wax protective coating before shipping, and the prep centers are supposed to remove it, but some invariably gets left behind in door jams, etc.
It's not cosmoline--Porsche uses that to coat the underside of their cars, and it's 10X harder to remove.

My Ride: 2011 520dA coming up.
I retrofitted the M-tech kit and it's only since then that I've seen the residu marks.
It's only now that you start talking about it that I realize i never had them before.
Perhaps it has to do with the altered aerodynamics?
