Thanks Ach and Pra! And to all of those who have spent countless hours testing and doing the research before me. Most of the information is out there, all I had to do was read.

Thank you all.

Purchased from a vendor on ebay out of Florida. As suggested by another member of this forum. "SpedieGunz"

BMWCoding.com is going to be your best resource for getting started. And of course this website.

Here you will find a great DIY along with all the files you are going to need. Must be a registered member to view.

Let my know if you have any other question. I'm no expert but more than willing to help out.

Your Welcome man I was just kidding tho we all gotta start somewhere I was once new at it like you.... I still consider myself to be actually but even though I gave you a starting point you still did it all on your own no questions asked thats still pretty impressive.

I'm a programer/coder by trade and it's something I've always loved to do. So when I found out this was something I could do to my car I knew it was only a matter of time. Having a community like this forum and the BMW coding website as backup I jumped right in. Most of the time when coding apps or a database it's all from scratch and a lot of the work is trial and error.

In this case it was a little more difficult because if I brick a module it's most likely going to cost money. So I read as much as I could or until I felt I understood what it was going to take. With that said. The next step was to code something very simple. Just to understand the process. And I think the DIY in the beginners sections was great. If you just take your time and follow the direction to the T, nothing bad can really happen. As far as I know.

Once I coded the first module the others took minutes if that. My only problem now is wanting to explore what the limits of the modules are. So I've printed out all of the default module settings and currently in the process of translating them. To then compare to other cars past and present modules. This may take some time but as stated above, it's something I really enjoy doing.

My advise to you or anyone thinking of doing this is to read the Beginner's DIY. If most of the steps on there make sence to you, move forward. if not continue doing your research.

Hope this helps and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask.
