If was fixing it by throwing bulbs at it, it's not the same problem we're having. In my case, the bulb's fine.
Also, in my many years of experience with BMWs, I've never felt that bulbs were burning out often. As a matter of fact, I can barely remember any bulbs burning out...

I posted a thread earlier about this very same issue. Mine is the passenger side. The dealer replaced the bulb and actually told me "the bulb needed to be replaced." Ummmm... Right.... The problem started back up the very next day. It still happens, although not as often. The weather, however is getting a little warmer and I'm guessing that the cold has something to do with it. I have an appointment tomorrow and I'm gonna re-visit this issue while I'm there. Someone posted on my thread that the bulb socket had to be replaced to fix his version of this problem. I will post what my SA finds THIS time in.
By the way, has anyone else experienced having to take the care in MULTIPLE times to have things fixed? I have been in for service 4 or 5 times in the month and a half to two months that I've owned this car and they keep telling me that "Some parts didn't come in the kit, needed to order parts, still waiting on parts" etc. This is starting to become rediculous!!! How long does it take to order parts? I get scheduled to bring the car in about every other week and they have been working on my sunroof since I bought the car and that was around January 3rd. The glass STILL rattles like it is going to fall on my head and the wind noise is horrible!!!
Sorry about that last part. Had to vent a little.

Hello Tex735 (and others)! I found your earlier message http://forums.e60.net/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=534618 regarding the issue, and Rudy?s "fix" for the problem i.e. replacing the bulb carrier sounds very reasonable. The turn signal always comes back when knocking slightly the light and that would logically mean that the electric signal comes "near" the light but cannot reach the bulb for some reason (maybe "cold" soldering joint somewhere in the bulb carrier) meaning that e.g. the light module is working ok...! If I continue to having this problem the bulb carrier will be the next part I try to fix or replace it.
Sorry the hear the problems you?ve been suffering repeatedly, I haven?t had any problems before, just normal service during my first year with E60 (2004) and I?ve been very satisfied with the car!

I had this issue for about a year and a half. this month was my texas-inspection sticker month, so i had to do something, otherwise the car would not pass for a bad turn signal
I removed the light carrier, disconnected all possible connections in it, used some compressed air to clean them, applied a very slight coat of wd40 to all connections, and reconnected everything.
its been 3 days trouble free.
hope this helps put
