Has anybody who has swapped out their Angel Eyes with LEDs had the twinkling effect on them before starting the car? Last night I was starting the car in a dark driveway, and all of the sudden I see this twinkling LED effect from the Angel Eyes. They worked just fine after that, but just twinkled. It happened again this morning, so I suppose its been going on all of the time. Please advise.

Swapped out the AE's?

Messing with the E60 electrical system and problems will occur.

This isn't a big problem. The strobing effect is the car going through the electrical systems check and since LEDs don't take too much power it's causing it to power on/off. You shouldn't see any strobing after start up. If you do then you have a prob.

It's common to see this with upgraded AE's.

Thanks ro11dice, I didn't think it was a real problem, just kind of unique and actually a little bit cool too. Thanks for the information!

I did have LED last year 1 light has 6 led and after about 5 months I saw that 3 out of the 6 LED were burned out so I did not use them after. Now I just have 8w white blubs in it which is much better and cheeper too.

Good to know pinguhk, thanks for the information. If my LEDs fail I will follow your lead.

The 'messing" was merely the light source for the Angel Eyes, nothing more dire than that.
