Thumbs up

I remember reading in the manual that I could leave either the left or right parking lights on with the car off and parked. I don't remember the technique or sequence. I have tried every light setting and tried using the blinker etc. etc. etc. If I could remember where I put my manual I would just look it up again, but it's late, I am tired, and I am sure one of you smart guys can me remind me how to do this

I believe it is simple as moving the turn signal knob to left and right once either way

Something about holding the staulk down while turning off the car. Supposed to stay dimly lit

WHT A COINCIDENCE!!!!
yesterday night, my friend tought it to me. Heres the Trick Enjoy.
1-Turn off the car
2-Turn the light knob to OFF.(maybe thats the one u missed)
3-Use ur turn signal (blinker) up or down(as if you were making a turn to the right or left, which ever lights u want to turn on)

At this point, ur rear light will turn on and the Angle eyes also. ENJOY

Be careful with this feature (standing lamps). Rudy had sent the electrical documentation out back in 05 about this - the accessory list that these are classified under have permission to drain the battery dry. If you leave them on too long, it -will- kill the battery.

Well thats a neat trick!! Is it also in the "neat tricks" thread?? if not it should be! Thanks for the heads-up UUronL, I'm sure one of us would have drained our battery unnecessarily!

Bteljuice, I did as you described and it worked as you said. Thanks for the instructions. UUronL, thanks for the details. Any idea on a safe timeframe? Will you do a time trial and post your results? I occassionally park on South Beach which has limited parking and often requires precarious parking on the street. I would love to use this option... but not if I come back to a dead car

This thread has amazed me. This "trick" has been standard on every car I've owned over my 23 years of driving, including my first BMW (which was a 1988 7er).
