Unhappy

Its said to say but after 8years two e39s and four e60s, I have brought an X6.

The forum has been great to have, especially in the early years of the e60 as they had there fair share of problems.

My last 535d was great the best ever, but the used values are just going to fall even further with the new model, and there are just so many on the roads, testomony to its all round abilities.

I have loved and loathed the shape of the X6, but it drives so great, for my daily 100 mile commute in real world weather conditions it just fab.

I vowed not to get the new 5 until they had road tested it on the general public for two years, to save me a simlar time in the one series loaner whilst they fix it my new five, but I am sure that will not be the case this time new product seems sorted.

So whilst I have not be the greatest contributor, you guys have been a wealth of knowledge for what is a truely great car.

So off to collect my X6 35d, only two worries, one will I miss the speed of the e60 on a good summer day (the three we get) and will new X6 shape grow or grate on me.

Thanks

Interesting, I'm a "drive what you like and can afford" kind of guy but over here in the US the press always tells us we are the scourge of the planet because we drive SUV's. Regardless that some of us have 4 kids who play sports and/or we live in the Snow Belt where 4WD/AWD WITH ground clearance is the only thing that gets you through.

I am surprised how SUV's have caught on in the rest of the world. Must be some reason people like large AWD vehicles, even in countries where fuels costs many times what we pay in the US.

Good luck with it. The X6 is regarded as technically excellent but other wise gets panned by the press here in the US.

Enjoy that X6, and come check in on us from time to time, we have many members who are E60-less and still read and contribute!

Good for you!

My story is similar, but I'm awaiting delivery of my X5 35d.

Just like you I did not want to wait for the F10 and spend half a year at the dealership fixing the first little issues.

(And by the time it has been properly tested my wife's Z4 is due to be replaced. She can then have the E70 and I shall have an F10! )
