While on holiday i picked up a accessory brochure that seems to be printed in Germany. Its probably the most comprehensive book I've seen till date, the UK brochure is probably half the size.

Some of the new things I read about were.

1. Additional Xenon main beam headlights: These apparently are for cars without the Xenon headlights and they replace the front fogs with Xenons which light up with the headlights.

2. Turning/Fog lights : These combine the turning and fog lights in a single system and the turn lights come out automatically when the driver turns off or takes a sharp corner.

3. Indepdent Heating : You can switch on the heating of the car remotely via a remote control or a ThermoCall ?? picture of a mobile phone is displayed - so I'm guessing a call type function.

4. Storgage and Drinks holder module : These replace the skibag module with some more functional comparents or drinks holder.

5. Textile bag: A bag that fits to the pocket behind the seats.

You learn something new each day. Has anyone else got these.

I would be interested in learning more about this item.

The LCI models have lights the come on when you make low speed turns, and when you put the car in reverse.

Thats the bit I'm not sure about. The brochure is called the 5 series accessories brochure but a lot of this seems like factory options to me. Although there are loads on 'normal' accessories also listed in the book.

Point 1 would be illegal in the UK. Most people don't realise it (especially people who drive with their fog lights on thinking it looks 'cool') that it is against the law to use foglights (front or rear) unless visibility drops below 100 metres.

I don't understand point 2 "turn lights come out" - come out of what??

Not sure about that lights coming out?? either.

I know when I take turns the projector lights turns.

Or when I am at a stop and turn my wheel to the

right the lights also move ,but only to the right at

a stop. And only left and right when the car is in

motion.

There are many good/excellent options/accessories in BMW Cars/SAVs ,one can check on bmw.com(international /euro sites).
But many of them are not for USA , do not know why?
I love few of them (like car warmup by remote, DVD,and headrest TV screens for rear passengers...so on....)
