ehh not too sure about this. All I know is that when I had the 194 reverse bulbs installed it gave me a "bulb malfunction error" Now since I switched to the recommended "921" bulb, I get no errors what so ever. To each his own I suppose but If you can run both sizes with no problems Hurray for you at least that makes one of us

This is rather misleading so I have to comment. Function-wise this is not even close. You need rather high powered LED (at least 10w) to even come close to HID. It might be bright like it, but certainly does not illuminate the same.

Oh, I have seen those. They are relatively new to the market. However, it's not apples to apples comparison. Both of those cars showcased has rather large reverse light area. Compared to E60s, they have probably 3 times area for light to shine through.

I am going to clarify, I personally think that 10w or more is necessary for our reverse opening to emit enough light to compare to HID.

However, in other cars with rather large area for reverse, a 5w LED will probably suffice.

Once again they are the SAME bulbs. Size does not matter. T10 bulbs have a variety of sizes 194/168/921/158. The lights in our interior are all T10 except the pedal lights. In my interior I have 1 T10 panel that was labeled as 194 panel then I have 2 lights that were labeled as 168.

How is it possible that 194 LED worked for me but not for you? Maybe you had bad bulbs. 194 and 921 BOTH should work in the LCI tails. I have the same on my TL the reverse lights are 921 but I have 194 LED inside. Its the same bulb dude lol.

Here is a list. These bulbs are all the same.

Common Part Number-168
Cross Reference Part Number-194 147 152 158 159 161 168 184 192 193 259 280 285 447 464 555 558 585 655 656 657 921 1250 1251 1252 2450 2652 2921 2825 W5W

They didn't work for me. Once installed, the 194 bulbs were very dim and gave me a bulb malfunction error....Then when I installed the 921 bulbs they worked just fine and weren't dim

Think it´s called "T15"

T10 = 10mm bulb
T15 = 15mm bulb

Same size socket but larger glass "bulb"

You can get some really powerfull CREE T15 in ebay
