For comparison I took a couple of shots of mine. These are Euro-spec LCI Tails w/6.1 cables. These are with the brake pedal depressed, so brake lights on. Sun is directly overhead. I agree that the rods are not that bright, however when you are down at car level like someone behind you would be, they are certainly visible. The top bar across the windshield is highly visible and the center round lights inside of the bars are bright.
And anytime after dusk, they look OUTSTANDING!
3rd pic at night is just with parking lights on, no brake on.

I agree they look fantastic at the down or night.

they are dimmer on purpose i believe, and only at full brightness when you brake. thats the way the 6.1 are setup, since they dont use the actual brake light bulb for braking.
you should have gotten the V6 cables that have the rods at full brightness and use the inner bulbs for braking, like oem.

That's not correct. When you say "inner lights", do you mean the outer lights (behind the LEDs?) That's what the OEM uses. V6.1 uses the inner lights, V6 uses the outer lights behind the LEDs.
OP, regardless of V6 or V6.1, the LEDs are pretty bright whenever there is no sun shining directly at them. I will take a daylight pic soon.

Pictures don't really do it justice because of the pulsating effect when you try to take one with all LED lights, but here's an example during the day. They are all evenly bright when you look at them from behind and they are very noticeable. This is with the brakes off.

OK, when i say inner, i mean the ones closer to the trunk as opposed to the outer ones. Either way, I can't tell much difference between the V6.1 and V6 without the brakes pressed. I don't thin the 6.1 are dimmer, they just look dimmer because when the brakes are pressed the actual inner light illuminates the LEDs more.

Inner rods lower brightness
Hey fellas, I kinda have a problem with my right lci tail light, as the inner rods that are closer to the trunk do not light up fully. Is there any fix for this? Do note that I have tried on an another tail light and it worked properly, so something is definitely wrong with mine. Picture below are the comparison with the working one and the one that is problematic.
